Grans lletres, grans sentiments

La publicitat utilitza moltes imatges. Les imatges desperten especialment el nostre interès. Ens fixem més en elles que en les lletres. Per això ens en recordem millor d'un anunci amb imatges. Així mateix, les imatges causen fortes reaccions emocionals. El cervell reconeix les imatges molt ràpidament. En sap de seguida el que la imatge mostra. El funcionament de les lletres és diferent. Són signes abstractes. El nostre cervell reacciona més lentament davant les lletres. Primer ha de comprendre el significat de les paraules. Es podria dir que els signes han de ser traduïts per la regió del cervell que s'encarrega del llenguatge. Però també es poden provocar emocions utilitzant-ne lletres. Només cal que la seva mida sigui prou gran. Les investigacions demostren que les lletres també produeixen un gran efecte. Les lletres grans no només són més cridaneres que les petites. També provoquen una forta reacció emocional. Això s'aplica tant per les emocions positives com per les negatives. La mida de les coses sempre va ser important per a l'ésser humà. Davant el perill, l'home ha de reaccionar amb celeritat. I quan alguna cosa és massa gran, significa la majoria de les vegades que està ja molt a prop! Que imatges grans n'originin fortes reaccions és, per tant, bastant comprensible. Sembla menys evident, però, per què passa el mateix amb les lletres grans. Les lletres no són en veritat un senyal per al cervell. Tot i això, el cervell mostra una intensa activitat quan observa lletres grans. Pels científics aquest resultat és molt interessant. Revela la importància que han arribat a tenir les lletres per nosaltres. D'alguna manera, el nostre cervell ha après a reaccionar a l'escriptura...
