Els joves aprenen de forma diferent a la gent gran

Els nens aprenen idiomes relativament ràpid. Amb els adults normalment requereix més temps. Però els nens no aprenen millor que els adults. Simplement aprenen d'una altra manera. En l'aprenentatge d'idiomes el cervell ha de ser molt eficient. Ha d'aprendre moltes coses de forma paral·lela. Quan estudiem una llengua no n'hi ha prou amb reflexionar-hi. També cal aprendre a dir les noves paraules. Per això els òrgans de la parla han d'aprendre nous moviments. També el cervell ha d'aprendre a reaccionar davant noves situacions. Arribar a comunicar-se en una nova llengua és tot un desafiament. Les persones aprenen idiomes, però, de forma diferent en cada etapa de la seva vida. Quan un té vint o trenta anys, l'aprenentatge encara és un procés rutinari. L'escola o els estudis no queden encara massa lluny. Pel que el cervell està ben entrenat. De manera que és possible aprendre un nou idioma aconseguint un nivell molt alt. Les persones de quaranta i cinquanta anys ja han après moltes coses. El seu cervell s'aprofita d'aquesta experiència. Estan en condicions de relacionar els nous continguts amb els coneixements passats. A aquesta edat s'aprenen millor aquelles coses amb les que ja tenim algun tipus de familiaritat. Per exemple, llengües que s'assemblen a les llengües apreses quan érem joves. Als seixanta o setanta anys el que sobra, normalment, és temps. A aquesta edat es poden fer exercicis i practicar amb freqüència. Això és molt important per aprendre una llengua. Els ancians aprenen a escriure un altre idioma, per exemple, particularment bé. Però un bon aprenentatge és possible a qualsevol edat. El cervell pot formar neurones fins i tot després de la pubertat. I en gaudeix fent-ho...
