快语言，慢语言

全世界有6000多种语言。 它们都有着相同的功能。 就是帮助我们交换信息。 然而信息交换的方式却各有各的不同。 这是因为各种语言都按各自的规律发挥作用。 而且，每种语言说话的语速也各有不同。 语言学家在各研究中证实了这一点。 研究实验将短文翻译成多种语言。 这些文章由母语者大声朗读。 从中得出的实验结果很明确。 日语和西班牙语是语速最快的语言。 这两种语言每秒钟差不多讲8个音节。 中国人讲话的语速显然更慢。 汉语每秒钟只讲5个音节。 语速快慢取决于音节的复杂程度。 音节越复杂，说得就越久。 比如，德语里每个音节包含三个音素。 因此德语说起来相对较慢。 说话语速快并不意味着能表达得更多。 而是恰恰相反！ 在说得快的音节里只包含着少量信息。 尽管日本人说话快，但是只能传达少量内容。 相反，“慢”汉语以只言片语就能表达大量信息。 英语的音节也同样蕴含许多信息。 有趣的是：这几种语言几乎有着同等效率！ 也就是说，说话语速越慢的，传达的信息就越多。 而说话语速越快的，就需要更多词语。 到最后，几乎谁都同时抵达了目的地......
